Admission Requirements
The Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi (NMCM), the Medical Council of Malawi (MCM), Pharmacy, Medicines and Poisons Board (PMPB), the Christian Health Association of Malawi (CHAM) and other stakeholders in the health care delivery system have outlined the entry requirements for admission into various programmes that are offered at Trinity College of Health Sciences as outlined in below;
1. Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery Technician (NMT) ( 3 YEARS )
This is a generic face-to-face programme that runs for 3 years (36 months), designed to equip graduates with knowledge, skills and appropriate attitudes to provide high-quality nursing and midwifery care to individuals, families and communities.
Entry Requirements
All prospective candidates must:
- Be aged between 16 and 45 years by the date of application.
- Possess a full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with four credits in English, Biology and Physical Science or Physics or Chemistry plus one of the following science subjects: Mathematics, Agriculture, Home Economics, General Science or Geography
NOTE: If Mathematics is not a credit, it should at least be a strong pass of seven points (7).
2. Diploma in Community Health Nursing Technician(Pending)(3 Years)
This is a generic face-to-face programme that runs for 3 years (36 months), designed to equip graduates with knowledge, skills and appropriate attitudes to provide high-quality nursing and midwifery care to individuals, families and communities.
Entry Requirements
All prospective candidates must:
- Be aged between 16 and 45 years by the date of application.
- Possess a full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with four credits in English, Biology and Physical Science or Physics or Chemistry plus one of the following science subjects: Mathematics, Agriculture, Home Economics, General Science or Geography
3. Diploma in Public Health (3 Years)
This is a generic face-to-face programme that runs for 3 years (36 months), designed to equip graduates with knowledge, skills and appropriate attitudes to provide high-quality nursing and midwifery care to individuals, families and communities.

All prospective candidates must:
- Be aged between 16 and 45 years by the date of application.
- Possess a full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with four credits in English, and any other subjects.
3. Diploma in Pharmacy (Pending) (2 Years)
This is a generic face-to-face program that runs for 2 years (24 months). It is designed to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes necessary to provide high-quality pharmacy services to individuals, families, and communities.

- Be aged between 16 and 45 years by the date of application.
- Possess a full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with four credits in English, and any other subjects.
3. Certificate in Midwifery Assistant (2 Years)
This is a generic face-to-face program that runs for 2 years (24 months). It is designed to equip graduates with the knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes necessary to provide high-quality pharmacy services to individuals, families, and communities.
