Certificate in Midwifery Assistant

This program is designed to prepare graduates with the foundational knowledge, skills, and attitudes required to support midwives and other healthcare professionals in providing safe, effective, and compassionate maternal and newborn care.

This program is accredited by the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi (NMCM), ensuring that graduates meet the national standards for practice.

  • Basics of midwifery and maternal health care
  • Newborn care and child health
  • Fundamentals of nursing care
  • Community and reproductive health
  • Professional ethics and communication skills

Career Opportunities:
Graduates serve as Midwifery Assistants in hospitals, maternity clinics, and community health settings, working under the supervision of qualified midwives and nurses. They play a critical role in promoting maternal and child health.

How to Apply

  1. Obtain an Application Form
    • Forms are available at the Admissions Office of Trinity College of Health Sciences.
    • Alternatively, download the form from the official college website.
  2. Prepare Supporting Documents
    • Copies of academic certificates (MSCE or equivalent).
    • Be aged between 16 and 45 years by the date of application.
    • Possess a full Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) or its equivalent with four credits in English, Biology, and Physical Science or Physics or Chemistry, plus one of the following science subjects: Mathematics, Agriculture, Home Economics, General Science, or Geography
  3. Submit Your Application
    • Return the completed form with all required documents to the Admissions Office, or send it via email to admissions@trinitycollege.ac.mw
    • Pay the non-refundable application fee as indicated on the application form.
  4. Selection Process
    • Applications will be reviewed by the Admissions Committee.
    • Successful applicants will receive official admission letters.
