Trinity College of Nursing (Trinity College of Health Sciences) is a faith based college,operating under the umbrella of Christian health association of Malawi. The College opened its doors in 1964 by the sisters of divine providence, under Chikwawa diocese. The College was formed with an aim of training nurses for Trinity hospital. With increased demand for nurses, the college increased its capacity, and started training nurses for the whole country.
Although there has been some notable growth, the College has over the past 56 years, been offering just one program. Time has now come for the college to diversify and start offering more programs. The college therefore intends to introduce other health related courses, hence the change of name.
In view of the aforementioned change, the vision and mission of the College were thoroughly reviewed to suit the envisaged future.
We hope this change of name, will encourage all staff, management, board, CHAM, MOH and all stake holders to work in one direction and achieve the intended purpose. Together we can. The new name comes with the new vision and mission that has been crafted to suit the direction the college has taken.
